David Michael's Tales From The RoadTERRORIST HARPIST NABBED IN FERRY PLOT
And if you really want a laugh: satire by my friend Bob
Krinsky
"TERRORIST HARPIST NABBED IN FERRY PLOT" President Bush congratulated WS Ferries for its vigilance in protecting the public from the threat of insidious mind control music composed by Celtic harpist David Michael. "The ferry workers are the real heroes here", said Bush. "When people started to relax and stop sweating and wringing their hands, under the spell of this devil music, it was time to spring into action, and those boys did it!. Unless the country lives in fear every day, who knows what might happen next?" An FBI spokesman at the Seattle regional office confirmed the confiscation of the harp and its placement in a secure evidence locker: "It was scary, the darn thing was armed, tuned and ready to play at any moment. We got it just in time." The US Attorney's office issued a press release stating: "Every American Christian knows that only angels play harps, and you have to be dead to be an angel. The jury will have no trouble concluding that David Michael is a fallen angel, because he is alive and playing a harp." David Michael remains imprisoned without bail as an enemy combatant. The Bush administration has authorized by emergency executive order, 10 million dollars for further investigation into the population of Port Townsend, Washington due to the high percentage of stringed instruments in the area. "Lets find out now what threat these other stringed instruments present to the nations security. We would be remiss in assuming the guitar, banjo, dulcimer and mandolin might not be harps in disguise, and there are many cells of string players in that town", said a Bush spokesman. A computer seized from Michaels home confirmed that he had been listening to Malvina Reynolds and Crosby Stills and Nash, suggesting long association with subversives. All this has been quite a wild ride and fodder for the book I'm writing about my life as a busker. I've been working on it in pieces for years. Now I have the thread I've been missing! For a sampling of the kind of stories that will appear in my book, visit TALES FROM THE ROAD. Meanwhile, if you're missing me on the boat and need a little harp music fix, check out this short video of me playing a short version of the title song from Heart of the Harp in the garden at Red Dragon a few days ago. The kind of publicity I'm receiving may be priceless, but doesn't pay the bills very well. If you'd like to support my work and add to your music collection, click here to visit my catalog and hear samples. I have 12 different CDs of my music published by my own Purnima label, as well as a new nature film to choose from. You can either print out an order form or choose the Buy now from CD Baby option if you wish to use a credit card and buy directly online. Many new productions are underway right now with several new releases slated for Fall of 2007 and more in the Spring of 2008. Be sure to get on my listserve if you want notification about the new releases and/or the ongoing ferryboat saga! Just email me at harp@olympus.net and put "subscribe" on the Subject line. It helps if you also mention approximately where you live so I can also let you know if I'm performing in your area. Warm wishes, David
