The story behind the song
This is the only set of lyrics on this CD that clearly cannot be considered irreverent. Dari and I wrote this piece together for our wedding day while hanging around La Ropa Beach in Zihuatanejo. After all the songs about my romantic disasters, I hope you'll find this one to be like a breath of fresh air. We're both delighted to have finally found each other, albeit well into middle age. Take heart, fellow romantics! There's always hope! |
The LyricsAlone in the world again I said a prayerThat I would find love again somehow somewhere Someone with open heart spirit and mind Passionate generous truthful and kind Where were you? Where were you? Where were you? You didn't know that my spell had been cast And that I'd also prayed for a love that would last Someone to laugh with to love and to share The joys that life offers so precious and rare Where were you? Where were you? Where were you? Was it fate was it luck or an answer to prayer When you swept me away with one stroke of my hair How did you know how to love me so fine How could I tell that you'd really be mine Here you are! Here you are! Here you are! Through mountains and valleys our lives will unfold The fire of our passion will never grow cold Someone with open heart spirit and mind Passionate generous truthful and kind Someone to laugh with to love and to share The joys that life offers so precious and rare Here you are! Here you are! Here you are! Here you are! |
